On the 22nd of January the SAMAQ Campaign was launched by His Excellency Minister of Environment, Water & Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli in the “Promoting Seafood Consumption” Forum held at the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
The campaign aims to promote healthy seafood consumption in the local population by providing them with easily identifiable mark of quality “SAMAQ” (National Aquaculture Certificate). The campaign also aims to increase the consumption of seafood through education program as well as social outreach through social media.
The campaign will run for three years and hold various events for public outreach programs in the local shops.
Currently SAMAQ certified seafood can be found in Riyadh in Tamimi markets and Carrefour. You can view the location by clicking here.
